NYVelocity is the premier destination for bike racing culture in New York City. It has maintained a steady user base since it was instrumental in investigating doping concerns in pro cycling, but as a focus of such intense readership, it had also attracted the attention of spammers and was severely infected with malware. In addition, the design was tired and needed a refresh. Working with the design firm Poseur Sport, Raygun Interactive did a full-site rebuild and migration from Drupal to WordPress, migrating years of original content including articles, photo galleries and reviews and searching and deleting hundreds of thousands of spam and malware posts. The client and designer wanted a front page with recent features in different categories displayed in unique columns. The community-driven site continues to feature online discussion and remains malware-free.
